I know I haven't been doing nearly as many personal blog posts lately and you can blame our third floor spare bedroom for taking up nearly all of my spare time.
I've been painting, wallpapering, hanging blinds and curtains and clearing out all the junk we don't use anymore with on-line ads.
If you like room makeovers, you have to check back and see how this ugly spare room is being transformed into a third-floor retreat.
And talk about a room to challenge the most experienced designer! The overall floor is 12' x 12' which would be a great size for a bedroom if there wasn't such a slope to the roof. Two of the walls are only 24" high before the sharp pitch starts.
So far I've painted all the surfaces including ceiling, walls, baseboards, doors and closet and added a traditional wallpaper to the window wall.
Here's the new paint color to help mask that "cave like" feeling these slanted walls and blue color create.
This is the paint color for trim, baseboards and doors and even though it looks a lot like the wall color on the computer monitor, there is a nice contrast when you see it in person.
Check back in a few days for updated photos! Carpet is scheduled for Wednesday and a queen-size bed (yes, I can actually fit a queen box spring and mattress in here with room to move!) should arrive on Friday.
