Costume SuperCenter Review

As if getting my little one ready for kindergarten wasn't enough pressure,  lately she's become obsessed with lions, tigers, jaguars and any other cat you can think of. 

So guess what she wants as her Halloween costume this year?  Oh yes, a cat and not just "any" cat but a lion and it must have a tail and a mane.  Now where in our little one-horse town am I going to find a costume with that much detail in her size?

I knew if I left it until the last minute I'd have one very unhappy little lion on my hands so I turned to Costume Super Center who just happen to carry the sweetest costumes for little girls.

I was thrilled to find the entire lineup of Wizard of Oz Halloween costumes but most of all, it was the adorable little Cowardly Lion Costume that put a big smile on my little one's face.

It has all the detail she wants and comes in several sizes with Medium being the perfect fit for her.  The size chart was easy to use and when the costume arrived the other day it was

  P-E-R-F-E-C-T!!

Paranormal or Imagination? Part II

Today I'm again writing about some unusual experiences at my folk's place.

It was during the late 1970's and I was still in my teens.  My cousin was staying over to keep me company since my parents were at their cottage for the weekend. After a day of hanging out at the house, watching TV, listening to music and talking about boys, we went to bed.  I slept in my room and my cousin slept in another room which is now the office, across the hall.

During the night, I remember waking up a couple of times to the sound of footsteps and water running in the kitchen and bathroom but thought nothing of it.

We awoke the next morning and while making breakfast, I asked my cousin if she had had trouble sleeping since I had heard her up in the night a couple of times. She made a joke about me trying to scare her and laughed it off....but I wasn't laughing.  When she realized I was serious, the color drained from her face.  She insisted that she had not been up the night before at all and thought it was me she heard walking around and turning the taps on and off.

We talked about that experience for many years after and I know her well enough to know she's telling the truth.  She wasn't up during that night and I know I wasn't yet we both heard the footsteps and water.  Not only that, she vowed never to sleep there again and to this day, she never has.

I've Got A Tiger By The Tail!!!

With the first day of kindergarten for my 5-year-old daughter behind us, the next big challenge I expected was getting her a costume for Halloween.  Lately, she's become obsessed with lions, tigers, jaguars and every other wild cat on the planet.

She knows there is going to be a dress-up day at school for Halloween so she's already talking about being a tiger.  Me being worried we wouldn't have a chance at finding a costume like that here in our small town turned to the Internet and www.halloweencostumes.org

Aloha Friday - Do You Make Time For Structured Exercise?

With my 5-year-old daughter now in kindergarten 5 days a week, doing my step aerobics is so much easier.  When she was home, of course she wanted to join in and if you've ever done this type of workout, I don't have to mention how challenging it is not to bump into her or hit her while swinging my arms around.

So now that it's just me and Susan Powter five mornings a week (Burn Fat/Get Fit VHS from the early 90's is my favorite), it's a pleasure to get back into the routine of working out.  (and by the way, if you're looking for the perfect combination of low-impact aerobics combined with weight resistance, this workout is for you!)


Here's today's question:  Do you make time for a structured workout or fitness routine?  If so, what do you do?
