Aloha Friday - Herb Edition!
Aloha Fridays are brought to you by Kailani in beautiful Hawaii at An Island Life where Friday is the day to take it easy while anticipating the coming weekend. Today I'm going to link up, take it easy and ask a question.
I love to cook and to keep my kitchen well stocked, I have a herb garden in a sunny window next to my dining room table. I start it each Spring and keep it alive into the Winter as long as possible. I have mint, thyme, basil, Thai basil, parsley and sage inside and rosemary and garlic chives in my flower garden outside.

Paranormal or Imagination? Part IV
Today's post is about the most frightening experience I've had at my parent's house....so far. It happened during the early 1980's and this time I had a witness...my dog. It happened downstairs in the basement where I thought we were the only two at home.
At the furthest end of their basement are two big rooms that take up the entire width of the house. They each have their own entry door although the wall that separates them has had around 12 feet removed so they are open to one another.
Getting back to that day, I was in the room on the left walking toward the wide opening to enter the room on the right. The family dog was laying on the floor in front of the wood stove to my left with her eyes shut and appeared to be sleeping.
As I approached the opening, suddenly a round, glowing white light appeared in the other room about 2 feet in front of me. It was a bit smaller than a soccer ball and was hovering in front of my face. It was gently going from side to side as I stood there trying to make sense of what I was seeing. Suddenly the dog jumped up onto all fours while barking in the direction of that light. The bright orb then shoot out of the room with a tail behind it (like a comet) to the right and down the hall towards the other end of the basement. It did this with an incredibly loud snapping or cracking sound.
I hadn't moved from my spot but hearing the dog bark and seeing the fur on the back of her neck stand up confirmed that I had not been the only one to see the orb. I slowly took a few steps forward so I could look to my right down the hall where the orb had gone. I was terrified I would see someone or something standing there blocking the only exit to get out of that basement but to my relief, nothing that I could see was there.
I wasn't long grabbing the dog's leash and taking her for a walk so I could clear my head. To this day, I've not seen another orb in person and as much as I'd love to know what we witnessed that day, I don't want to see another!
