Decorating Facelift On A Budget!

Getting back to the never-ending redesign of our daughter's bedroom, I wanted to share the amazing makeover of the old fireplace that's in her room.  It takes up an entire end wall when you include the bookcases on either side but for me the exposed redish brick inside the fireplace wasn't working.

(Sorry I didn't get a before photo but this is very close to how it looked)

After a quick tour around the basement of one of our better tile shops, I found just enough marble tiles in their cheap ends to transform her fireplace with these:


Here's how it looks now:

Big impact on a tight budget!
(Oh and the decorative basket holds artwork, no fires for her!)

We had a marble fireplace when we first got married. The landlord told us no fires either.

Looks just like ours.
