Aloha Friday - Deja Vous Expressions

Aloha Fridays are brought to you by Kailani in beautiful Hawaii at An Island Life where Friday is the day to take it easy while anticipating the coming weekend. Today I'm going to link up, relax and ask an easy question.

Earlier this week, I did a blog post about realizing I am now using my mother's famous expression  "Get out from under my feet" to my own daughter.

So this week's question is:  "What expression or saying do you now use on your kids that your parents said to you while you were growing up?"

If we didnt want to eat something my dad would say "It's good for your carburator". Of course that was back in the day when cars actually had carburators. Wierd I know but I still tell the little one that. She hasnt a clue what it means.

I may have shared this before but My grandfather would say he was going to swap us for a billy goat and than shoot the billy goat. Such a sweet guy.

Not entirely sure, but I know I have become my mother in the way I advocate for my children with their schools. Kind of scary to see how much I am taking the same approach and willing to go higher up the chain when things are not done properly.

I know there are phrases my mom said to me growing up that I say to Princess Nagger - I can't remember what they are off the top of my head, but I do remember that I've thought "I've become my mother!" ;)

Wishing you and yours a Very Merry Christmas! :)

I call my daughter Chatty Kathy which is what my mom called me.
I am also guilty of saying "When you grow up and have kids you can make the rules"

I had sh*tty parents who didn't speak nicely to me at all, so I'm consciously making an effort NOT to talk to my children at all in the same way. Once in a while something silly my dad would say will slip out, but nothing frequent or common...
