I was so excited to give the Step-by-Step Contour Kit a try.  I watched the Video first just to make sure I completely understood the product and was ready to go.  And I love that Smashbox included the perfect brush for the job to make applying this product effortless!

Up first was the contour power (darkest shade).  I lightly applied it to the sides of my nose and under my check bones giving my face a subtle, slimming effect.

Second up was the Bronze (center shade).  To warm up my complexion, I lightly applied it to my nose, cheeks, forehead and chin and my skin was glowing!

And the third and final step was to use the highlighter (light shade) to bring a bit of light where I wanted it.  I applied it above my cheekbones, the bridge of my nose and above my brows.

It was so easy!  Of course I will need to practice a couple of times to get just the right amount of color that I like but I know that in no time, this will become as easy as applying lip gloss!

ColorMark TouchBack - Gray Roots Gone Instantly!! Review

Every now and then, you find out about a product and can't help but ask yourself "What took me so long to get my hands on this?!!!"

That's exactly what I thought when I discovered TouchBack "Gray Roots Gone Instantly" by Colormark.  "Temporary hair color in a marker".  It's the perfect solution to easily cover and touch up gray roots between full hair colorings.  

I was pleasantly surprised when I received this product to review.  The packaging was neat and tidy and I loved how easily the shades and their names were identified on the top of the boxes.  I received Golden Blonde, Rich Black and Light Brown.  I chose the Light Brown which was perfect for my medium/dark brown hair with caramel highlights.

I read the directions and felt confident that I could do this without help and I was right.  The marker style applicator made it so easy to apply and their custom comb kept the color off my forehead and center part.  Once it dried, which only takes a minute, it blended invisibly with my hair color and stayed put even after brushing. It didn't flake or rub off and looked perfect until my next shampoo.

And a little goes a long way.  There is plenty for several applications so you can easily look color-perfect no matter how long ago your last full color was.  With no ammonia or peroxide, this was gentle on my hair and scalp.  Definitely the easiest touch up ever with the precision applicator.

Tell Me You Would Have Helped!

With my 4-year-old daughter back at preschool, I've finally been able to start walking the harbour-front boardwalk in our small hick town.

So the other day, I had about one block left to walk when I spotted a woman with two suitcases on the street talking to another woman.  They were looking at a brochure together.  Being the nosy thing I am, I stopped to ask if they were lost.

The older woman told me the lady with the suitcases was looking for a particular street.  The name of the street sounded familiar to me but I wasn't sure where it was.  In the best English she could, the younger woman told me she had just arrived in town and had become lost after getting off the bus from the airport. She thought the bus driver had said a 10-minute walk to the street she was looking for but she didn't know in which direction.  She had been walking in circles for almost an hour.

Well, it didn't matter how many crime shows I had watched on TV or seen on the news, there was no way I was going to walk away and leave this woman stranded only a block from my house lugging two suitcases.  The neighbors must have thought I was nuts watching me mime out that she could come with me and we would find out where the street was and I would drive her there.

So here's what I was able to find out during our short walk to my home.  She was here to run in a charity event that was taking place in a few days, she had flown all the way from Japan to participate and was able to joke with me that she should have taken a taxi from the airport instead of the bus.

Within a few minutes, we were at my house, she showed me the address of the B&B she had reserved and we jumped in the truck to find it.  Within five minutes, we were pulling up to the front door of the B&B.

So with just a little extra effort on my part that took less than 10 minutes of my time, she was safe and secure in the room she had reserved and able to enjoy the balance of her stay here.
