Finished Bedroom Makeover 101 Part IV

If you've been following along, you already know I've been working on a complete do over of the spare bedroom on our third floor.  Since we live in an old house, we have plaster walls and this particular room has a sloped ceiling on two sides that only have 24" of straight wall.  Talk about a challenging room to decorate!

So here are the photos so you can see how it turned out.  Did I mention Teal is my favorite color?

This is what used to greet our guests who stayed in our spare bedroom:

Now this is what they see when they open the door:
Small wicker table beside the chair was only $5 at a yard sale.  Tall lamp was $30 on an online ad, drapes were $12 from an online ad and bamboo blind was $10 from online ad!  Bench was 50% off and the wicker storage chest under it was 70% off.  Chair was 50% off and teal pillow on it is the only item that was full price in this photo.
From this tiny twin bed:

To this luxurious queen bed:
Two bedside tables were $50 off each, white quilt and shams and throw blanket were from a discount store while three accent pillows on the bed and teal table lamps were full price.

Here are a few more views of the finished room:

I'm happy to have finally found a home for my mother's wooden sewing box (outside closet door) and a place for my collection of 1950's hats and purses.  You can get a glimpse of them at the left side of the last picture on the coat tree (and to the left of the door in the first photo).  Many of the pieces belonged to my husband's mother and are beautifully displayed now.

The inspiration for the room is the blue/green color of a tropical ocean and I think I've hit the mark here with the creamy sand background and pink flower accents.

And everything fit through my tiny door opening of only 27"!  What an accomplishment!
