I know I'm a week late with this but with a sick kid at home for most of last week, let's just say my blogging had to take a back seat.
Anyway, what I've been thinking about is how everyone spent Mother's Day. For me it was a fantastic weekend of
"me" time since my hubby took our 6-year-old daughter to the cottage with him for some bonding time.
I bet they were not even a block up the street when I jumped to my feet and started a major cleaning at the house. Within a couple of hours the place was sparkling and guess what! It stayed that way for 3 whole days while they were gone. Imagine, nothing to pick up, put away or clean up for three whole days!!!!
Then on Sunday night around 6:00 pm the hubs and little one returned. Within an hour, the hubs decided he needed to make himself some good old-fashioned fried potatoes. By the time 7:30 rolled around the kitchen was a mess.
There was potato starch sprayed all over the black counter tops and kitchen faucet, the sink had a dirty pile of potato peels in the bottom, there were plates, forks, knives and glasses all over the counter, there was a crusty mess of half burned potato slices stuck to the bottom of the frying pan, the stove top and tile back splash were splattered and the spatula streaked with grease lay in a pool of oil by the sink.
Yup, that was it for me. Mother's day was officially over!
