Aloha Friday - Bedtime Schedule?

Aloha Fridays are brought to you by Kailani in beautiful Hawaii at An Island Life where Friday is the day to take it easy while anticipating the coming weekend. Today I'm going to link up, relax and ask an easy question:

Do you have a consistent time for your child or children to go to bed each night?

Here, our daughter goes to bed at 8:30 each evening but on weekends she usually gets to stay up an extra hour.  Because we are consistent, she goes to bed willingly and easily every night since there is never a debate about staying up later.  For us, this works.  How about you?

My guy likes his sleep (like me!) so only rarely does he fight it. He's a night owl like me too, so we put him to bed around 9pm each night, but then he sleeps til 8:30, 9am which is fabulous :)

Our kids are 11, 13, 15, and 18. When they were little we did have a stricter bedtime schedule. Now, we strive for them to be in bed by 9:00-9:30-ish on school nights. On weekends we don't really set any bedtimes.

Princess Nagger used to have a set bedtime, but we've been lax on it since she's a great sleeper and goes to bed around 9 because she wants to. Little Dude, on the other hand, is a major challenge - whether it's nap-time or bedtime (8pm) he keeps himself awake for 2+ hours before finally falling asleep. And no matter how late he finally falls asleep at night, he's always wide awake (and loud and boisterous) every day by 6:30am.

I try to get them to bed by 9pm but it hardly ever works. They pretty much crash when they crash.

My husband doesn't get off till later in the evening so Alex stays up till about 10:30 sometimes later... so that the hubby can spend time with her!

My kids are like yours. We have a consistent bedtime routine. Most nights it's 8:30. Rarely 7:30. And like on Thurs when it's soccer we go in at 9:30.
I try to ensure they get enough rest. It works out easy.

When my kids were young, it was like they were tired and wanted to go to sleep before any bed time. These days, I'm the first one in bed around here.

Have a great weekend!

We get our girls up to bed at 830 each night by allowing them to read for 30 minutes:) It gets harder and harder to sneak in some quality parent time!

It's funny you should ask because I'm sitting here right now wishing the kids would go to bed! LOL!

School nights there in bed by 8:30pm. On the weekends they can stay up later.

My daughters always had a set bedtime and it was always earlier than most of their friends. Little ones get up so early that I feel they need to go to bed early. Plus I needed my alone time before I went to bed.

I stressed so much over the bedtime when my 3 kids were little and I tried so many times to maintain a schedule. It would work for a while, then not, and I would feel guilty and somewhat inadequate.

Long story, but to put it in a nutshell, my husband doesn't come home until 7, 8, or 9 p.m. I've never known when he would show up. Yes, I'm blaming him! lol

Now that the girls are 16, almost 14, and 11, they go when they need to. Fortunately, my 11 year old gets tired at 8:30 and goes on her own at that time. They all come to kiss me good night, even when I'm asleep...like I should be NOW!

Hope all of this made sense because it's after 11 and I'm tired. :)

ps. Keep up the good work with your daughter. A schedule has its benefits.
