And that's when I spied an ad offering all the pine boughs I could cart away for free! A very generous woman who lives about 15 minutes from here had to cut down two large pine trees and she had more tree than she could handle cluttering her yard. Luckily, my dad was visiting so we made two trips and filled the back of the truck each time.
Here's what I made after visiting our local dollar mart for a few economical accents.
We filled all three window boxes with pine
and then added clear lights for a soft shimmer
I used the dollar mart accents and the leftover pine here
(I already had the containers from my summer flowers)
Here's our front door now
So if you're looking for some cheap and easy Christmas exterior decor, check your local listings or call your nearest Christmas Tree growing farm (if you have one in your area). You just never know what's up for grabs!
With a little snow (you know it's coming!), it will be pretty as a postcard!
