For me, one of the high points of any trip to the USA is finding the nearest department store with open-stock Fiesta. You see, I love this stuff but I have yet to find a store in all of Canada that carries it making it nearly impossible to get unless I want to pay a fortune in shipping costs.
So during our vacation last month to Hawaii, I convinced the hubby to take me to the nearest Macy's. First stop, big strike out! The girl in housewares tells me they are the only Macy's on the Island that doesn't carry Fiesta. So back to bribing the hubs to drive me to the next Macy's and BINGO!!!
Just check out these fabulous colors and serving pieces I purchased!!
Next question - How in the heck am I going to get this stuff home? Now this is where the old saying "Where there's a will, there's a way" comes in. With Air Canada reducing baggage weights from 70lbs to 50lbs per suitcase, this was going to take some precision packing since they wouldn't allow it as a carry on.
We get to the airport and our three suitcases go up on the scale. 42lbs for my daughter, 48.5 for the hubs and 49.5 for me! We saved on the outrageous $20 per pound overage charge and all the Fiesta made it home intact.
Yay Fiesta!!

Aloha :) You bought those in Hawaii? I'm from O'ahu so I'm just ecstatic you visited my home.
Yay for you! Do you mix and match with all the colors? I can't believe nothing was broken...very lucky girl! :)
Those royal blue oval platters are the ones I had!
this made it home unbroken? Hooray for you! I've had far less important things broken far too many times. FYI....Macy's will ship for you as well next time...just sayin' :-)
Yay! I love Fiesta...it's just so heavy! I went to the factory in West Virginia back in May of 2000. Loved it! They have an outlet store of the slightly irregulars, and all you can hear is "chink, chink, chink" as people move pieces looking the a good one! Enjoy your new Fiesta!
I have some Fiesta bowls! I love them!
