Hey Fashion Police, He's Over Here!

All of you women who complain about the way your husband dresses are far from alone.  There are probably more of you than those who are happy with their husband's fashion sense.

You want to know how poorly my hubby dresses?

On most days, very badly.  The first time I met him was at the hospital where he was working as a neurologist.  He showed up after hours dressed in camouflage army pants tucked into untied work boots with a T-shirt hanging out over his pants.  Can you blame me for asking for ID? Get the picture?

So when he went along to help his younger brother pick up a piece of furniture at the Salvation Army Thrift Store, the guy who works the door there took one look at my husband and said "Clothing is downstairs." assuming my hubby needed a fashion makeover.... badly.

Hubby is lucky that I don't care how he dresses or whether he has any fashion sense at all.  The truth is, I'm just happy he wears clothes!

  1. I have no fashion sense. You are prolly not shocked. For years I rocked the flannel. It took the wife a few years but she got me out of that phase. I still dont own a suit. I did buy some dress slacks and a Blazer a couple yrs ago but moth ate holes in them. I thought that was a myth.

The wife dont let me dress the little one.

Gimme jeans and a polo and I am happy.

  2. oh lol lol lol I am thinking that there are many thankful people around that is glad he wears clothes also.. LOL

My BF has no fashion sense at all. I am an extreme Type A personality and a tid bit OCD. I can not stand clothing that is not ironed. Yes, I IRON EVERYTHING! I hate it when he pulls a wrinkly old t-shirt outta his drawer to go to dinner in. grrrrr..
and when I first met him (also at a hospital ;)) he has on - get this:
    *paint splatted work boots
    *with his dress pants
    *and tie and dress shirt.

Dumbo. He was (and still is) cute. But come on.. knock it off - IRON THE DAMN CLOTHES!

  3. My wife tolerates how I dress around the house or if I go out by myself. However, if we go out together, I get "the look". And she 'suggests' a shirt I should wear. Now, if I don't want any more looks, I just put on said shirt. LOL

  4. hahahhaha, oh, thank you for the laugh. that is too funny! I'm lucky mine is a pretty schnazzy dresser, but once in awhile he has made pretty questionable choices...like his "clown" shoes that look like Globetrotter sneakers. ugh!

  5. My husband started out a few years ago wearing pajama pants in public and pleated cuffed khaki pants. Now he does jeans and tees so I'm happy with that.

  6. OMG, don't get me started on this!

My husband is the KING of sloppy dress. He has exactly three shirts with no holes, rips, or stains. Doesn't care. One of those shirts is a tee that I was forced to buy for a sleepshirt - an ice storm hit on December 23, while we were all on 12 hour shifts at the post office. There was no getting home, so a bunch of us just made the best of it and got motel rooms. We went to the only store that was still open to get basic necessities - Walgreens. I found a $2 tee, slept in it, and that was it. It was paper thin and ugly to boot. That was...let me see...12 years ago? Yeah, I think that's right, and to this day, HE still wears that shirt. Doesn't matter that it has a rip at the back collar the size of Texas. Doesn't matter that the stomach area is so thread bare you can SEE HIS SKIN.

And his shoes - he literally wears his shoes til his toes are sticking out! I am not making this up! A few months ago, we found a terrific deal at Sears on the pocket tee shirts he likes so much - they were great quality and ringing up at $1.88 - he bought ONE! ONE! I told him to stock up - we'd never find them again at that price - no, he said he just "needed" one!

Like I said, don't get me started!

  13. Bless his heart! Good thing he has you because you can help with all of his fashion choices. You totally show how remarkable you are in looking within than at what's on the outside.
