Thoughtfulness or Sabotage...?

They say that "The road to Hell is paved with good intentions" which might explain why my hubby thought I might enjoy these which he picked up while out getting milk the other night.

So far I've resisted but that pound cake sure would taste good with my coffee right now and I don't even want to discuss those bakery chocolate chip cookies!!

Anyone else feeling less than supported by their other half while trying to lose weight?

Stay tuned!  Sunday is weigh-in day with Heather's Gonna Lose It where you will find this cute icon for those of you who want to join in:

See ya then!

  1. Oh Sugar Booger supports me, sometimes a little to much. I like carbs, I like calories, and I LOVE Mt Dew! I just don't like what they are doing to my perfect body that is underneath the exterior.

  2. See trapped somewhere in the recesses of this packed 3 linebacker body is the figure of Angelina Jolie.. HOWEVER coffee and chocolate keep her quiet..

  3. Just had some afternoon coffee and cookies while reading blogs....only thing better is wine and chocolate.

  4. I just scarfed down a valentines day cookie...I'm not judging anyone right now.

  5. Fortunately, I'm in "maintain" mode. I have my sweets, but I have to exercise to balance it out.
My husband rarely eats sweets, but he's always bringing things home for the kids and me. I don't get it.
Do your best, but if you feel like beating someone up, give in to a cookie instead. :)

  6. I am currently surrounded by cases of Girl Scout cookies, I know your pain. Actually, hubby has been really supportive and in fact has recently started counting his calories - it helps that we are both in weight loss mode. Now, step away from the pound cake and no one will get hurt.

  7. I just ate half a bag of oreo's while blogging this morning!!

And I feel absolutely NO guilt whatsoever.. none! ;)

  9. My husband brings naughty food home all the time (he is naturally thin). I really can not have things like this in my house. He keeps his cookies and treats in his car, per my request!! haha. So cheers to you for having the self control!!

  10. Hubby does that to me too! I just hungry again just looking at that picture. Oh the cookies! I almost ate the computer screen.

  12. Evil! Pure evil.
I don't even let my kids get me valentine's candy. It they bring it, I WILL eat it.

  13. I'm looking forward and dreading my V-day dinner at my favorite restaurant Logans. I will have to work out a lot to burn off those calories!

  14. Thankfully my hubby doesn't go to the store, I control what we eat.

That was kinda mean of him or maybe he is testing your will power. Will power to not hurt him!

  15. Mine always asks me why I am trying to lose weight, he likes a meat on the bones.
I'm my own enemy though, if I walk into a grocery store, I come out with cookies and cakes galore.

  16. He loves you just the way you are.. .. you know what to do.......throw them out... tell him you ate it all up .. but really throw them out.. lol.

And keeping doing so. Tell him he better eat his snacks when out and about.. because you can't resist.

If you don't want to throw out food (which is a bit sinful).. give them to a very very skinny neighbor..

    (hugs).

(that sugary stuff won't be good for the little one either.. they are saying too much sweets as a young young child could lead to diabetes in middle age (not sure if that is true)...

  19. CAKE...my weakness! I told my hubby not to buy me any junk food for Valentines, just flowers. We'll see if I change my mind by tomorrow!

  20. Mom what you do is eat them standing up and have a cup of green tea and it all cancels itself out! LoL

  21. LOL, DH is always sabotaging my efforts to take care of myself...

Ex. 1: I want to go to the gym? DH encourages me to skip to spend time with him.

Ex. 2: I want to watch what I eat? DH orders an appetizer AND dessert at the restaurant.

Ex. 3: I want to get a few more hours of sleep? DH encourages me to stay up late to watch a movie!

  22. Husbands are definitely good for that kind of thing... Unfortunately!

  23. I'm not trying to lose weight at the moment, but I feel like The Husband is always bringing snacks home that will make me a fatty. Last night, he was like "I have an eating problem, Sarah." Luckily for him he has a tape worm, as well. I don't!!!!

  24. I am my own sabotager! Not good I tell you!

  25. Trust me, it's a man thing. Never send a man to the store to just pick up one item. Never.

    ReplyDelete
  26. My husband is no help. As my tummy is full from our date night. I did come home without stopping for Starbucks and dessert.

  27. Just think of how you will feel afterwards if you do choose that pound cake - bloated, icky, clogged with sugar, unhealthy, sluggish.

Unlike fruit and veg where you feel light, buoyant, pores open, spring in the feet, clean inside and out, energized...

Mmmm, must take my own advice!! :)

  28. Umm feeling a little guilty here. I know I am the bad guy who has sat with my ice cream while hubs is trying to be good.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Ugh....My husband isn't so overt about it. But he does subtle stuff. And can I tell you, I wouldn't be able to resist all the frosting. I am wanting it right now just looking at it!

    ReplyDelete
  30. My hubby is ok as long as there is no ice cream in the house..then I am in trouble, as both of us are addicted to the stuff...however, my MIL...is a totally different story...she is always giving us food, and feeding us the second we walk in the house....and some of it isn't too healthy....

  31. I didn't lose any weight this week...I will post about it on Sunday. I was at a low tonight and went to Red Robin for my grilled turkey burger.

I have an award on my blog for you.

  32. Yum! You mean to tell me that you didn't have any of that cake? That looks to good to resist!!

Boo is horrible about keeping the junk out of the house. He is a junk food junkie which makes it so hard for me to resist.

    ReplyDelete
  33. OH dear! How thoughtful of him, huh? No, my husband is really supportive, but our weakness is ice cream. He will get it for him and Lizzie and how am I supposed to not eat it?

Good luck!! It is really difficult to keep that out of the house but you can do it :)

  34. That combo looks deadly for sure. We're doing this little experiment in our house to see if we can go the entire month without eating out. Husband showed up with a damn pizza and jalepeno poppers last night! Oh come on!

  35. John's been an angel while I'm trying to lose weight. He makes gym dates for us and every morning he cooks me a lean protein to take in my lunch. In exchange I make him a protein smoothie for breakfast every morning and some whole grain carbs for our lunches!

  36. They sure do look yummy! My hubby brings home treats like these as well.

I have something for you at my blog.

  37. OH man my EX used to be like that! But my Dear Hubby is not. He is very supportive. He won't bring stuff like that home. He only asks for M&Ms which are his favorite and not mine. He lives without so I can go without and lose the weight. I have a question...can I weigh in on Wednesdays?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Good for you for resisting. They look so good. My picture would be of the empty packages. LOL - Happy Valentines Day. Good luck in the weigh in.

  39. I have been terrible the past few days with Valentine's candy from the kids in my class!! I am afraid to weigh..not sure what I am going to do!!

  40. Hubby brought home Almond Roca today... 'nuff said!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Oh, my husband is the same way!!! I think he tries to make me fatter!!

  42. Take one and pour ketchup on the rest and throw them in the trash. Seriously.

You know what my husband said I should wear? Hot pants. His opinion of my rear and the reality of it are obviously on two different realms...
