It Couldn't Be A Ghost...Right??

I'm not one to shy away from the paranormal and growing up in an "active" house has certainly helped me to keep an open mind.  But this post isn't about the home I grew up in, it's about the Historic Home we now live in that was built in 1891.

The other night it was business as usual except that I had stayed up much later than normal.  I slipped into bed around 1:10 am after closing the bedroom door.  I had my eyes closed for about 10 minutes and was drifting off to sleep when I heard a loud snap out in the hall (almost like a rubber band).  I then watched wide eyed as our bedroom door unlatched and slowly opened by itself.  I laid there and looked at it for a few minutes trying to come up with a logical explanation.

Was there a window open?  Had air alone unlatched the door?  Had I not closed it properly?  Could that loud snap have been a sound I should be familiar with?

No, no, no and no.

I then got up and pushed the door all the way open making sure it had something heavy in front of it to keep it that way.  There was nothing else unusual that night but there have been nights when I could swear someone is either patting my head of stroking my hair.  Strange.

As for the house I grew up in, I'll write about that one soon so stay tuned.

In the meantime, do you believe in the paranormal?  There certainly has been a huge increase in "reality-type" ghost buster shows.

Beauty Simplified - Mistura Review

I love testing beauty products so when I had the opportunity to try The Essential Kit from Mistura Beauty Solutions,  I was thrilled!

They generously sent along one of their Pump and Glow glosses and did I love it!! Super cool, square-shaped acrylic packaging holding one of the prettiest lip colors ever!  Mine is super sexy Reese and it goes on beautifully, stays put and doesn't feel at all sticky.  And there's no stinging or tingling on the lips.  Just fabulous, long-lasting, hydrating coverage and if you want to plump up your pout, use it often!

Now for the Essential Kit.  Being a busy mom, I was keen to give this a try.  It included Mistura's LuminadaVitamin E Lip Balm, their 6-in-1 Beauty Solution and a mini Kabuki Brush all neatly tucked into a clear vinyl pouch making it perfect for travel.

I started with the Luminada Moisturizer and it left my skin feeling silky smooth.  It protects skin from free radicals and creates a healthy, radiant glow.  The perfect base for the 6-in-1-Beauty Solution.

The 6-in-1 Beauty Solution was amazing!  It's a single shade formula for ALL skin types and colors and it worked perfectly on my medium skin tone.  It's a blush, it's a highlighter for nose, forehead and chin, it can be used as a lip color, it's an eye shadow, and it can be used to hide blemishes.  If you have sensitive skin like I do, this product is hypo-allergenic and fragrance free.  One easy step but remember, a little goes a long way.

The Vitamin E Lip Treatment felt super hydrating on my lips and can be used with the 6-in-1 Beauty Solution to create your own custom lip shade.

Overall, I loved these beauty products and Mistura easily delivered on the promise of "One Product, One Shade, One Fabulous Result"!!

Mistura is so confident you will love their products, they offer an easy

Aloha Fridays are brought to you by Kailani in beautiful Hawaii at An Island Life where Friday is the day to take it easy while anticipating the coming weekend. Today I'm going to link up, take it easy and ask a question.

Last Saturday, I took my daughter to a fairground here in our small town.  She really wanted to try the Bingo tent so I agreed to let her play ONE game.  Guess what? She won!  She picked out a pretty Disney doll as her prize.

This is the first thing she has ever won.

How about you.  Have you ever won anything?

I Love It But Share It!

Once a year, our small-town parade goes right by the front of our house.  Super convenient for us, we sleep in and then at 9:59 AM, walk a few feet to the lawn chairs reserving our spots up front (yes, we have to save ourselves a spot on our own front lawn the night before)

This is the view from our second-floor window as the parade starts.  By the time it ends, children have been running all over the lawn, hiding from one another behind the big trees, running up to my window boxes to smell the bright flowers, holding races from one side of our large lawn to the other and rolling in the fresh grass.

I know a lot of people would find this intrusive.  I, on the other hand, love that complete strangers feel so comfortable pulling up their chairs, laying out their blankets and watching their children run free all over our front yard.  To hear the kids laughing and giggling and see them playing is as much fun for me as seeing the parade itself.  I mix with the crowd never mentioning that the big yellow and white house in the background belongs to us.

Oh and I should mention, once everyone packs up their things and goes home, there isn't any litter left behind and after about a week, the grass recovers and it's business as usual.

How about you?  Would you welcome strangers setting up camp on your front lawn for a morning once a year?

Aloha Friday - Do You Fight Fair?

Aloha Fridays are brought to you by Kailani in beautiful Hawaii at An Island Life where Friday is the day to take it easy while anticipating the coming weekend. Today I'm going to link up, take it easy and ask a question.

When my hubby and I disagree on something, we typically share our opposing views and leave it at that agreeing to disagree.  We also have the rule not to go to bed angry with one another which we've pretty much stuck to.  Overall, we try to keep a peaceful home for our daughter but it takes discipline, sometimes ALOT of discipline (especially on my part Lol!)
How about you?  Do you stew when you're angry at your significant other?  Do you give him/her the silent treatment?  Do you answer "Nothing!" when you're asked "What's wrong?"  Do you roll your eyes and say "Whatever!" when they dare disagree with you? Do you fight fair?

Libre Tea On The Go GIVEAWAY with Review (Ended)

Winner is Nina W

I used to drink coffee by the gallon but thanks to a little bug my 5 year old brought home last March, I was able to kick that bad habit once and for all.  So to keep me smiling with a warm drink in my hand, I've made the switch to tea.  After all, there are so many healthful and delicious tea flavors available, we should all be drinking it.

Talk about perfect timing for those friendly gals at Libre Tea to send me a little something to make having that fresh cup of tea even easier.  Just check out this cleverly designed Libre Loose Leaf Tea Glass.  It holds over 14 oz of my favorite tea and is so easy to use, I can enjoy that tea anywhere!

All you do is twist off the lid to reveal a second screw on top with screen so you can brew loose leaves or your favorite tea bag.  Just fill the glass jar with hot water, put on the screen top with your tea and then screw on the top lid.  Flip the entire jar over and voila, hot tea in only a few seconds anytime, anywhere, at home or on the go!

This glass 'n poly large jar has a health-conscious glass interior for fresh taste and a durable polycarbonate exterior for 'on the go' durability.  The stainless steel tea filter is surrounded by BPA free polypropylene as is the lid interior.  Super well made and built to last!
