Aloha Fridays are brought to you by Kailani in beautiful Hawaii at
An Island Life where Friday is the day to take it easy while anticipating the coming weekend. Today I'm going to link up, take it easy and ask a question.
I remember my first "record player" when I was in my early teens. I couldn't wait to go out and buy my first LP and when I did, I purchased "
Electric Jewels" by April Wine. My second record was "
School's Out" by Alice Cooper.
How about you? Do you remember the first LP/CD/Tape you purchased?

new gfc follower :)
I don't remember my first album, but a couple of my favorites were Styx and Electric Light Orchestra.
Being a teen-ager in the 50s I loved Pat Boone, Elvis, Everly Brothers, Connie Francis, etc. So I would guess it would have been something #1 on the charts that month.
We had one of the old huge console type radio/ turntables. We wore out Johny Cash's Ring of Fire album. They still have a large collection of 45s and 78s
My first actual purchase of an album was prolly Cheech and Chong. My parents were really proud.
The radio in my shop at home is and old 8 Track player.
I'm going to say Pat Benatar. My older brothers usually purchased the albums but I think I brought some females into the house.
I was into Movies. Loved all the musical LP's. My dad still has them. I am going to see if I can retrieve some of them. I think he has all the first one that were purchased.
I remember one single that my girlfriend had in the late 60's. Build me up Buttercup by The Foundations. I love that one, even to this day, lol. I remember dancing to to as well as Henry the Eighth. great memories.
I got my first album when I was about 12. It was Michael Jackson - not Thriller. I can't remember the title. It was an actual LP. Tapes came a couple of years later! Reading some of these comments is making me feel old! LOL
My first tape the soundtrack to La Bamba.
New follower from Home Grown Families! A true product of the 80's, my first tape was of New Kids on the Block (AGH!) and my first CD was Debbie Gibson (Bigger AGHHH!).
